ABOUT FEIYUE SNEAKERS

Originating in Shanghai, the Feiyue sneaker first appeared in the 1920s. This small shoe made of light material, that has guided the paths of all social classes in China, has crossed continents, arriving in Europe in 2006, where it was picked up by a team of French enthusiasts, fascinated by sneakers and urban culture.

Losing nothing of its vintage and authentic charm, Feiyue has undergone a series of transformations. With a gradual evolution of practices, blending in French and international influences, the brand is now set to conquer the walkways of Western cities.

Considerable work has been conducted on improving quality standards: with a complete revision of the original form and more carefully selected materials, the resulting shoe combines aesthetics with durability. With these modifications complete, the very first collection was launched in France in February 2006. Since then, Feiyue has seen many different varieties and is constantly changing - its name in Chinese, pronounced “Feî-ué”, means “Flying Forward” … Innovative models are thus constantly appearing, sporting new colors and new materials.

Balancing a nostalgic historical sense with radical modernism, Kris Van Assche has created a distinctive, refined world of nonchalant elegance.

Van Assche's work is characterized by attention to detail, a strong feel for ritual and the exacting depiction of a chic that evokes "days gone by". His designs arise from a sophisticated approach that breaks away from the uniformization of sportswear.

Kris Van Assche was born in Belgium in 1976. Shortly after graduating from the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, he moved to Paris in 1998. After working with Hedi Slimane at Yves Saint Laurent and then for Dior Homme, he began to show his original creations in January 2005.

Today he heads his own label, KRIS VAN ASSCHE, and artistic director for Dior Homme since april 2007.

Impelled by a vision of the man who takes the time to "dress up", Kris Van Assche has embarked on an esthetic quest, pursuing a new masculinity infused with poetry and authenticity.

Martin Margiela was born in Belgium in 1957, graduating from Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1980. He founded Maison Martin Margiela in 1988 showing his first women’s ready to wear collection for spring / summer 1989.

His work is closely associated with the deconstructionist fashion movement of the 1980s. Margiela's work is characterized by a poetic appreciation of imperfection, personality and eccentricity. His collections have been presented on tube platforms and street corners. He says 'My main inspiration has always has been the extremities and changes of daily life.'

There has definitely been rumors about Mr. Christian Louboutin designing a signature sneaker for the "Red Bottom" lovers who frequents a good sneaker from time to time ... I guess it's true. Here's a sneak peek of the Louboutin sneaker and I'm sure it'll be as pricey as its counterpart so get ready to save those coins or just splurge as always, unless leopard-printed sneakers aren't your thing.

Personally, I'm not gaggin' about it at all, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for other designs of the signature sneaker [wink].
