Fashion History 101: Does the height of your heels define your status quo?

Take a look at this interesting interview with Lucky Magazine's Laurel Pinson as she breaks down the reason why women splurge and strut in high heels. "The higher the heel, the wealthier the woman." says Pinson. According to Pinson's research, throughout history and its EcoSlides, women's shoes have also changed - in height and retail prices as well.

As I reflect back on my teachings while attending IADT (The International Academy of Design & Technology) one of my fav classes were Fashion History and I do recall reading chapters which explained the importance of shoes whether its height, length, color or embellishments. In fact, during the "pointy-toe shoe" era, it was reported that the longer the point of your shoe or boot, then the wealthier your family and/or it told the status of that particular individual within the Royal Family. And the saying is still prevalent ... FASHION NEVER DIES!
