Thanks C.O.C.A! You have once again proven yourself to be an innovator in up to date urban fashion.

However, as a pedestrian I feel the need to focus less on the superficial and more on the existential. Can C.O.C.A style enhance my positive perceptions of the African American community and dilute my negative misconceptions?

After all, clothes are just clothes, and we all want to be fresh and stylish, but what does C.O.C.A do for me on a cultural, political, independent, educational and philosophical level? How does C.O.C.A stand apart from all the other pretentious bricklayers of this community who aspire to entertain through rap and sport, but fail to educate the youth? I will be following you to see what messages you deliver to us. Because we are all the uneducated masses.

Sincerely,

The Five Percent Nation.

Thank you, for visiting our Blog “THE FIVE PERCENT NATION”, and we hope continue to show your support. To answer your questions:

Can C.O.C.A style enhance my positive perceptions of the African American community and dilute my negative misconceptions?

Your perceptions of people should be basis on your day of day interaction with people not what is on the web or in entertainment. I can do my best to preach the righteous Gospel, but ultimately the choice is left to the audience.

What does C.O.C.A do for me on a cultural, political, independent, educational and philosophical level?

My reply to this is simply: “Know thyself”-Marcus Garvey. Read it.

How does C.O.C.A stand apart from all the other pretentious bricklayers of this community who aspire to entertain through rap and sport, but fail to educate the youth?

This issue is bigger than my Blog. It is not my aim to stand apart, or aspire to entertain through rap and sport and fail to educate the youth. Education is one biggest issue facing our nation as it stands, so when I have kids, I will make sure I provide them with the best education I can give them. This in turn helps the community to become a better place. I also recommend you do the same with your kids and tell your friends to do the same. At the end of the day if I do my job as parent than I can look myself in the mirror and be proud. It’s easy to point the finger, but let’s try to point the thumb from time to time and hold ourselves accountable for our actions.

Peace, your visit and comments is always welcomed.

Sincerely,

Chairman of the board

There is not a right or wrong way to establish a core or civility and direction in the community/culture of the masses. I believe everything starts with individuality. I see C.O.C.A for the lifestyle it conveys, but how is C.O.C.A actually showing "others", and the youth first, what this means?

I see both stand points and understand both answers respectively. I guess what FIVE PERCENT NATION wants to know is, what’s being done by C.O.C.A outside of the "individuality" and "accountability for ones self" for the community. With all respect due, I appreciate a blog like this with so much potential and diversity over any other blogs I have encountered.

On another note, I see your hard work and diligence is paying off brother, stay on top of yourself and your endeavors, and the dream that we call Fi-H.Y.P will be more than a lifestyle, it will be a legacy. Inward Progression… Outward Modesty… Upward Praise
