She's on that New New ...

Things changed when she “hit 25 and was like, you know what? These boobs and these legs ain’t going to look like this forever.” Skin, “boobage” and legs, then, all figured prominently in the Holly Golightly-from-the-hood image she crafted for the release of “Shine.” “That was my thing that I was gonna do,” she says bluntly. “No one else was doing it.” - WWD

I'll be ready in 5 minutes ...

“In this economic climate, I want to focus on the established codes of Dior: the Bar jacket, the panther, the lily of the valley,” Galliano said of his approach for Christian Dior this fall. That platform translated into a collection both controversy-free and superb in its own right - WWD interview.

Material Girl Part Deux ...

“Everything she was wearing in the first campaign was sold within a few months. People came into the store saying, ‘I want the Madonna bag, the Madonna shoes.” - Antoine Arnault, Vuitton’s communication director.

Sasha Fierce becomes a clothing line ...

WWD REPORTS: The collection, Tina said, is “edgier and trendier and reflects Sasha Fierce’s daring and outgoing attitude.”

The jewelry, shoes and eyewear, she added, “are really over the top” with large chains made in mixed metals such as silver with gold, heavily studded shoes and oversize sunglasses such as the ones Beyoncé has been seen wearing on tour. The clothes are a little more subdued to make the accessories stand out — a one-shoulder dress, black bodysuit, fake leather jacket with oversize collar, leggings and destructed jeans with mesh and lace details lining the ripped material.

Effortless Style ...

Women's Wear Daily reports a 'Must Read' article on the impact The King of Pop had on fashion and style. Definitely before his time in many aspects of his artistic ways, but when your style reaches 'trendsetter' status, it's effortless and iconic. And, Michael [THE AVIATORS] gave us layers and layers throughout the Eighties of amazing fashion trends ... Take a look at the article and the slide show, KUDOS WWD you guys did a great job!

THE JACKET

MICHAEL JACKSON, STYLE ICON:

During the Eighties and into the Nineties, Jackson, who died of cardiac arrest in Los Angeles Thursday, became as much a trendsetter for fashion as he was for music. There’s the red leather motorcycle jacket he rocked in the “Beat It” video; the white ankle socks, black fedora and black loafers he wore when he moonwalked (and that walk alone is almost as legendary as Neil Armstrong’s); the military-style jacket and aviator sunglasses he toured in during the “Thriller” era; the white V-neck T-shirt that he always eventually stripped down to onstage, and finally, there was that glove, first worn during a performance of “Billie Jean” during a television special in 1983. And the CFDA 2009 Womenswear award goes to ...

Reported by WWD: And the CFDA 09 Winners are ... Congratulations to Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler for gnabbing the Accessory Designer of the Year award.

[Photo: Lorenzo Martone and Marc Jacobs]

Some designers you just know are destined to be awarded, for example, Alexander Wang taking home The Swarovski award for Emerging Talent. Followed by one of my favorite womenswear desingers - Anna Sui who was honored with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award ... well over due.

And who brings home the gold? If your guess was Mr. Marc Jacobs, then you're definitely on the money. CFDA awarded Marc with the International Award for his work at Louis Vuitton throughout the years.

Then, to top the evening off completely the First Lady Michelle Obama received the CFDA’s Board of Directors’ Special Tribute ... now that's COCA!

Cruise with Givenchy 2010 ...

This is why 'they're' the professionals, season-after-season trends are reborn and sometimes legends are made to join forces with the wonderful world of F&S [Fashion & Style for the short bus readers, lol]. Take GIVENCHY Resort 2010 collection for example, can we say a hint of Interglactic twist with a Romanesque draping for next year?

I love it! I see Mr. Riccardo Tisci did his homework especially when it comes to the metallic trimming, sheer draping and bias cut jackets/vests channeling an Outer Space goddesss ... PH-Certified!

Log on here for more Resort 2010 collections ...

Fav 5 Fall '09 Looks ...

Marc Jacobs F/W'09

Ralph Lauren F/W'09

Louis Vuitton F/W'09

Lanvin F/W '09

Burberry F/W '09

Of all the collections featured during Fashion Week, here are my fav 5 collections for fall/winter. Yes, these are the same designers, but they always bring the heat when it comes to their collections, especially the autumn collections. Leave it up to Burberry, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and Marc Jacobs to keep us ladylike with a unique twist of androgyny from season to season.

Can you image the effort of time, money and creativity put into each collection? Hats off to them all, but I'd rather them than myself, lol. Either way, I'm sure I'll be pulling inspiration from all collections - gotta love those labels!!!

Click.Flash.Pose: Ciara freezes for WWD

WWD chats it up with Ciara on her fashion evolution, personal/artist growth and her upcoming album, Fantasy Ride. Check out the entire article, here:

Ciara Princess HarrisCiara to her fans — brings three publicists, a personal assistant, a bodyguard and two rodent-sized dogs to her WWD photo shoot. Travel light, she does not. But there is nothing else diva about the multiplatinum pop and R&B star; she’s unceasingly polite, energetic and game for just about anything during the eight-hour shoot.
