LADIES: Have We Become Our Barbies?
Surely I'm not preaching to the choir when I reminisce to the ladies of the 80s Baby Era about BARBIE being our first love/authentic taste of the fashion industry as both stylists, dressers and designers on a mid-fashion and haute couture level, right?
It's amazing how majority of our childhood years were spent begging the parentals for new wardrobe for our Barbie dolls, and even the latest doll for that matter. I don't know about you, but I've noticed about my personal wardrobe that many of my staple or fav pieces, in fact, depicts some of my dolls previous fashions.
For example, BARBIE was extremely fashionable and courageously colorful with her handbags (especially her clutch bags, preferrably in pink aka Barbie Pink), shoe game, jewelry, hair weaves, long lashes, flawless makeup, flashy cars and various selections of stylish eyewear ... until one day it runs across your mind and you ask yourself - Have I Become My Barbie?
You ponder on that while taking a look-see at some items I've chosen from Net-a-Porter.com, which reminds me of some stuff Barbie's wardrobe would've included, lol ... enjoy!
Marc Jacobs "The Handy" Clutch, $330.
Ray-Ban "Two-toned Wayfarers" Sunglasses, $170.
Mike & Chris "Lyle Belted Poncho" $320.
Christian Louboutin "Very Prive" Pumps, $860.
