Favorite Designer: I have a great amout of respect for Vivienne Westwood. She pulls much of her influence from streetwear and for years her designs have had a sexy and rebellious nature that I love.

Inspiration: Music + Art + People. I constantly surround myself with people who inspire me ascetically, personally, and mentally.

Another angel departs as the world continues to spin ... Sources report the lost of the world's First Black Supermodel - Naomi Sims [March 30, 1948 - August 1. 2009] allegedly died on Saturday [August 1, 2009] after suffering a long battle with breast cancer at 61.

Originally from Oxford, MS, Naomi decided to break into fashion with a bang unlike any other, during the late 60s Naomi became an Icon for the "Black is Beautiful" campaign, although it didn't take long for this Southern Belle to win the hearts of some of fashion's most coldest people. Naomi became a brand from Time, Cosmopolitan, Life and many other magazines - she was the truth and that's why we're paying homage to Naomi Sims ... you'll be missed a great deal!

According to VOGUE.COM, The first black doll from Barbie was introduced in 1967, as a friend of Barbie called Francie, followed by the first "Black Barbie" doll, introduced in 1980. The trend continues this autumn with the launch of a collection of black Barbie dolls, called the So In Style dolls; which have been designed with more authentic-looking black features, including a new facial sculpt that has fuller lips, a wider nose, more distinctive cheek bones and curlier hair.

"Barbie has been an icon for whole generations which is why I really wanted to give a strong sign in step with the times, and dedicate the anniversary issue to Black Barbie," Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia said.

The project features wallets, totes, and T-shirts adorned with images of artwork painted by Creative Growth Art Center artists Louis Estape, Dan Miller, William Scott, and Gerone Spruill.

Tom di Maria, the Creative Growth Director, says the partnership with Marc Jacobs offers an amazing foundation for future Creative Growth’s projects. Allow me to let you in on a lil secret of my own - I have a fetish for fashion Ads and I only buy fashion magazines to rip out the ads. Truthfully, if it wasn't for Ads some of our favs would've closed their doors a long time ago. One major rule in publishing: Ads sell everything else is secondary! So true, did you know that Ad sales equates the number of pages a magazine or newspaper are allowed each issue? That's right, No Ads chances are your newspaper of magazine is as thin as the newsletter it derived from, lol.

For myself, Ads tell more of a story when it comes to that particular collection opposed to your routine fashion layouts that's 'blah' with a white or black background. That said, United Colors of Benetton has always been one of my favorites when it comes to tearing out Ads [If you're lucky they treat you to downloading the catalog for the season]. The Creative Director must be on fashion overload - from the hairstyles and wardrobe to the accessories and model positioning [sigh] I absolutely live!
